When my kids were little I had to stop doing jigsaws because there would always be pieces missing. I like the actual puzzles, but the boxes take up a lot of space, and of course, are limited as far as what images are available. I think I have learned a lot about art by doing puzzles (my favorite image choices are art). If I see a piece of art and I've put together jigsaws of his or her work, I recognize the artist. I've spent so much time looking at minute details.

I find solving a puzzle while I listen to classical music, to jazz or to blues very relaxing indeed. I am a professional translator and after hours of intense concentration daily, nothing relaxes me as much. I particularly enjoy doing puzzles based on famous works of art. It has been a very good way for me to know various schools and various artists. The colours are always formidable and I enjoy discovering the image little by little as I progress in the puzzle.
